YOU can spend a fortune on solar lights – but why bother when Poundland’s versions do the same job for much much cheaper?
I’ve been buying mine from the High Street shop for as long as I can remember – their trailblazing affordable, weather-resistant range has always been irresistible.

And this new £6 100 LED Solar Garland – just added to their ‘Solar Powered’ collection, is an absolute bargain, trouncing it’s rivals.
Not only does it emit a welcoming, warm glow from it’s 9.9m tube of multiple lights, it’s also got an incredible TWELVE different light sequences – so you can go from disco to dreamy in just two clicks.
And it handles well – because it’s a plastic tube, it doesn’t get tangled in anything – and is see through so its unobtrusive.
Its fabulous length is the real winner here – all too often you open a box of solar lights and they’re a disappointment.
But this would look fabulous wrapped around a small tree trunk – and because it’s 9.9m long you shouldn’t run out.
You might want to consider turning them off at night – artificial light can disorient nocturnal animals, insects and birds and disrupt their natural behaviours.
Definitely turn them off over Winter.
THe wonderful thing about solar lights is that they have so many functions.
They really can transform an outside space.
You can use them to illuminate a corner, create shadows, and add mystery to an area or your garden.

They can be hidden among trees, or signposting pathways.
Or they can just be decorative and pretty.
And the beauty is – you’re using the sun to power them, so apart from the initial cost – they don’t cost anything to run.
Try wrapping these round a tree to create Ibiza beach club vibes.
Or round a balcony railing, a gate or subtly tucked away amongst your vegetation to glow up your garden.
