AN Emmerdale star sparked return rumours after reuniting with cast members for a night out.

The ITV soap has seen countless characters wave goodbye to the village over the years.

Charley Webb played the role of Debbie Dingle from 2002 until leaving in 2021.

The actress has sparked return speculation following a reunion with former co-stars.

Taking to Instagram, the 37-year-old shared a carousel of various photos.

One snap, seemingly from a night out, showed Charley in a group photo alongside several former co-stars.

This included Natalie J. Robb (Moira Dingle), Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel Thomas), Katie Hill (Sarah Sugden), Zoe Henry (Rhona Goskirk), Eden Taylor-Draper (Belle Dingle) and Katherine Dow Blyton (Harriet Finch).

Another photo featured on-screen dad Jeff Hordley – aka Cain Dingle – holding up a dog and smiling at the camera.

One fan commented: “Need you back in ‘The Dales'”.

Another wrote: “Aww wish you could come back to the Dales. Loved seeing Cain (Jeff) in ya pics.”

Debbie was the daughter of soap icons Cain and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).

The character married Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan), had an affair with his brother Ross (Michael Parr) and was conned by scheming Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).

She also became a mum at 15 and had a disastrous relationship with triple killer Cameron Murray (Dominic Power).

The Sun revealed in December 2021 that Charley would be leaving Emmerdale after 19 years.

It came as her husband and co-star Matthew Wolfenden was caught up in a racism bullying row on set.

A source said at the time: “Charley is closing the door on Emmerdale for good and won’t be going back.

“After she gave birth to her third child with Matthew in 2019 she returned briefly before taking some time out again.

“The past few months have given her time to think about the future and it is one that doesn’t involve Emmerdale.

“Matthew being caught up in the row on set fuelled her decision to step away.

“Charley has been on Emmerdale for 19 years and her character Debbie has had a rollercoaster ride. It’s time for a new adventure for Charley.

“Naturally the door is open for her character, who is now living in Scotland, should she change her mind. But for now she is looking to the future.”

Emmerdale continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
