SAINSBURY’S has left gluten-free shoppers without a tasty breakfast option after axing a popular treat.
Shoppers were dismayed to learn they’ll no longer be able to buy the Schär brand gluten-free croissants.
The pack-of-four croissants are have a “flaky, buttery goodness… that bring a touch of gourmet indulgence to your gluten-free lifestyle,” according to the brand.
A customer service agent for Sainsbury’s recently confirmed to a shopper on X, formerly Twitter, the item had been discontinued.
“I’ve had a look and sadly the Schär GF Croissants are showing as discontinued. If you get in touch with the manufacturer, they may be able to provide more info. Sorry that it’s not better news!. Take care, Ben,” wrote the Sainsbury’s rep in their reply to the concerned customer.
Sainsbury’s still sells plenty of other Schär treats including, madeleines, marble cake and snack bars.
The retail giant continues to stock its Taste the Difference free-from croissants, for those still wanting a flaky, gluten free fix.
The Sun reached out to Sainsbury’s representatives by email for comment.
Schär is a specialty manufacturer that creates food products “put together only the best gluten free cereals and ingredients,” according to its website.
The buttery croissants were not the only sweet treat that Sainsbury’s has pulled from the shelves recently.
It confirmed it had stopped selling the Mini Magnum Euphoria Pink Lemonade ice cream sticks.
The delicious Magnum Euphoria Pink Lemonade ice cream sticks are made with lemon ice cream with a raspberry sorbet core and coated with white chocolate and popping candy.

Sainsbury’s customers will have a challenge finding the Yeo Valley Organic Greek Recipe Peach & Raspberry Yogurts.
The product page on the retailer’s website confirms that the item is now “out of stock”.
