A SAVVY woman has revealed how she is transforming her council house on a budget.
Kaysha, from the UK, had just moved into the property along with her daughter and couldn’t wait to turn it into a home.

After cleaning the two-bed house out and giving it a fresh lick of paint it was time to get the flooring sorted.
Like with most council properties, the council had taken out the flooring before Kaysha moved in.
The savvy mum said: “How much did it cost me to floor my council house?
“For those who don’t know, when you get the keys to your council house, 99% of the time it does not come with flooring.
“Although some councils do offer flooring schemes, unfortunately mine didn’t, so the cost to floor it came straight out of my pocket.”
Kaysha first went to her local carpet shop and fitted all of the upstairs and hallway with a grey carpet and underlay.
In total, it cost her £800 for the materials and fitting.
She added: “I’ve never had to pay for flooring before, so I don’t know if this was a good deal or a bad deal, but that’s how much it cost me.”
For the downstairs area of the house, she decided to cut costs by using a huge sheet of vinyl.
Kaysha purchased the wooden herringbone-effect vinyl from Factory Direct flooring, which cost her £11 a square metre.

“I do recommend this because it was easy enough to be honest. For my downstairs hallway and my living room it cost me a total of £270,” she added.
“So altogether, it cost me a whopping £1,070.”
Kaysha had yet to redo the flooring in the kitchen but she was thrilled with how the house was coming along.
The clip soon went viral on her TikTok account @kaysha.art with over 65k views and 2,300 likes.
People were seriously impressed with how cheap she got the floor and the fact she did it herself.
One person wrote: “I paid £750 for one room. That’s definitely a good price.”
Another commented: “Not gonna lie, you actually did a really good job on the price.”
“That’s an amazing price, I paid £3,000 with underlay for a large two-bed separate dining house inc the kitchen,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Well done for laying it yourself, you did a great job.”
“That’s very cheap,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “You got a brilliant deal. Trust me.”
