UFC icon Daniel Cormier was blown away by the size difference between Lucas Byrd and his girlfriend during the NCAA Wrestling Championships.

Bryd fulfilled his dream with a 3-2 win in double overtime and was overcome with emotion.

But former two-weight UFC champion Cormier was seemingly more blown away by the stature of Byrd’s girlfriend Ellie Holzman, who dwarfs her 5’6 other half, in the immediate aftermath of the thrilling championship match.

DC said: “Hey, look at Byrd’s girlfriend. She’s 6’3. Byrd’s got a 6’3 girlfriend.

“Look at him, he’s like 5’5. Volleyball girl over there. They’re famous on TikTok.”

As the 6’2 Holzman – who used to play volleyball for UOI – celebrated with Byrd’s parents, Cormier added: “You can’t see her head because she’s hugging his parents. Lucas Bryd.”

Cormier – a runner-up in the 2001 NCAA Division 1 184lbs final – proceeded to lose his mind after an emotional Byrd embraced Holzman.

He said: “Look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look.

“He’s picking [her up]. He loves her, Ellie.”

Cormier’s co-commentator – the legendary Mike Couzens – then proceeded to say: “Love knows no boundaries, certainly not height, DC.”

Cormier replied: “I think they’re wonderful together.” They’re wonderful.”
