A WOMAN has gone viral after she was awkwardly yanked out of celebrations at her daughter’s gender reveal.
Lauren McCarten, 26, a first-time mum to a now four-month-old, took to social media to share a clip from her special day, prior to the birth of her child.

But Lauren’s blonde-haired mother has now left many open-mouthed, after she eagerly rushed to celebrate the news that Lauren and her son-in-law Joe, were pregnant with a baby girl.
In the short clip that has since been viewed 5.1 million views, Lauren and her husband Joe stood in a back garden as they prepared to discover the gender of their baby.
The lovers, who got together when they were 16 and have now been together for almost 11 years, were surrounded by a small group of close friends and family, with Lauren’s mum right at the front.
With everyone watching, the happy couple, who will be celebrating their two-year wedding anniversary this May, stood in front of an arch display with beige and white balloons.
Lauren looked fabulous in an off-the-shoulder dress and sandals, while Joe opted for black jeans and a grey jacket.
As the couple opened up a box which read ‘It’s a Surprise’, it quickly sent pink confetti into the air.
The pair instantly turned to hug, but just seconds later, Lauren’s excited mother attempted to join in.
The woman, who wore a black cardigan and had a glass in her hand, bounded towards the couple, but was quickly dragged back by another party guest, who was filming Lauren and Joe’s happy moment.
Alongside the short clip, Lauren penned: “When your mum forgets it isn’t her gender reveal.”
Clearly not bothered by the awkward ordeal, Lauren, who has since given birth to her daughter Maya and is currently on maternity leave, then added: “Bless her heart, love her so much.”

Just one day after the ‘gender reveal fail’ TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @laurenjmccarten, racked up 276,300 likes, 4,726 saves and 15,200 shares, Lauren uploaded a follow-up video, sharing what then went on behind the scenes at the big event.
At the start of the video, which was filmed from a close-up angle, someone, presumably Lauren’s mother, was heard admitting: “I didn’t know!”
I think this is so mean! Her mother wanted to congratulate them
To this, as Lauren and Joe hugged, someone else chimed in: “They have to have their moment first.”
But after a quick embrace, Lauren was then heard saying to her mum: “Now you can come.”
To this, Lauren’s mother then eagerly ran towards her for a cuddle.
The clip was uploaded in response to a comment from a troll that read: “I think this is so mean! Her mother wanted to congratulate them.”
But to this, Lauren simply confirmed: “Don’t worry she got to congratulate us after we had a moment.”
After the quick explosion of the clip, the comments have since been turned off from Lauren’s gender reveal videos.
