Writing social media, an EastEnders fan have pointed out how Kat Slater appears to be in less episodes so far this year.

They said: “Kat Slater did not appear on #EastEnders this morning.

#JessieWallace has appeared in 11 episodes out of 42 (26.19%) this year.”

The fan added: “Abysmal attendance.

Played by Jessie Wallace, Kat has been a fan-favourite ever since her first scene in 2000.

It comes after fans spotted Kat was nowhere to be seen during the show’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

She was noticeably absent from Billy Mitchell’s wedding prep for his nuptials with Honey.

Last year EastEnders watched as Kat was caught up in a parental abuse storyline involving her son Tommy.

Viewers were left troubled by the upsetting scenes as Tommy regularly lashed out at his mum.

But while Kat attempted to hide her bruising from family, she eventually revealed what had been happening behind closed doors.

EastEnders continues on BBC One and iPlayer.
