THIS is the moment a woman slaps an attacker around the head with her handbag during a knife fight in broad daylight.

The video from a passing driver shows four men sprinting out of Magdalen Close.

Two separate from the group including one in a black and red hoodie.

He chases after another male in a bucket hat before the pair begin throwing punches at each other.

Then a woman suddenly crosses the street and thumps the man in the hoodie over the head with her handbag.

He backs away after the blow and the group appears to face off with the woman and man as two schoolgirls quickly walk past.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Constabulary said: “Police were called to reports of an incident in Magdalen Street in Norwich on the afternoon of Monday March 10.

“The incident involved four young men and a woman involved in a physical altercation between 4.27pm and 4.29pm.

“A woman in her 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of affray and questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and has been bailed to appear on 11 June 2025.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Councillor Alex Catt said the street fight was “shockingly violent”and was “not an isolated occurrence”.

He continued: “NR3 has seen a rise in anti-social behaviour, drug dealing and violence in recent years.

“While the police continue to be under-resourced and overstretched, they cannot always prioritise anti-social behaviour or have the resources to attend incidents quickly.

“It is concerning how many criminal activities rely on exploiting disengaged young people to function and with cuts to community services over the last decade we say ‘no more’ to the additional cuts planned by the Labour government.”
