The BBC One drama follows a group of Brits as they escape post-war Britain for a life-changing adventure down under.

The Brits, referred to as Poms in Australia and New Zealand, make the huge leap for promises of a better house, better job prospects, and a better quality of life for just £10.

However, the group soon learn life in Australia is not quite what was promised, as depicted on Ten Pound Poms.

The series follows a group of characters with their triumphs and pitfalls as they adapt to their new lives in a country far from the familiarity of the UK.

Now the much loved show has returned to our screens for a second season and fans are wondering if there will be a third run.

The BBC have not announced a new series yet but the show’s stars Michelle Keegan and Faye Marsay, would love to return.

Michelle said: “Yeah, don’t get me wrong – I love this show and I feel very lucky to be a part of it.

“I feel like if the audience takes with this season and there’s hunger there for another season, fingers crossed the BBC will want another one. I’d definitely be up for it.”

But Michelle recently announced that she’s pregnant with her first child, so would that mean a delay for a third season?

She answered: “Maybe … there’d be a bit of a delay, yeah.”

Faye added: “Yeah sure. I think, like Michelle said, we’ve got to wait and see what the appetite is for it and whether it resonates with people.

“I feel very safe around Michelle and Warren so even though it’s a long way away, it’s a really nice group of people.

“If people want to see more then of course, I would be open to doing it. But we don’t know yet, no.”

The official synopsis for season two states: “After a challenging first year in Australia, series 2 follows nurse Kate Thorne and the Roberts family into 1957 on their adventure Down Under, each determined against all odds to achieve their slice of the Australian dream.

“As Kate, Annie and Terry settle into their new lives, they each struggle to reconcile their hopes for the life they were promised with the harsh realities they face at Galgownie.”

Series one of the post-WW2 migration drama became one of the nation’s most prominent new TV series to be launched last year, amassing a 28-day figure of 7.7 million viewers.

It was awarded two Golden Nymphs at the 62nd Annual Monte Carlo Television Festival for Best Series, with Warren’s portrayal of Terry winning Best Actor.

The new season also introduces some exciting new characters to fans, including the Skinner family, fresh from Ireland and the unscrupulous landlord Benny Bates who we Terry gets involved with.

Ten Pound Poms airs on BBC One and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
