EMMA PATON quickly deleted a tweet after sending a message to fans during last night’s Premier League Darts nightmare.

The Sky Sports presenter hosted coverage from Brighton.

But after she was finished presenting the start of Night 5, the broadcaster encountered technical difficulties.

A white screen with the Sky Sports logo was shown alongside a message which read: “We’re really sorry for this temporary fault.”

The error, which lasted for two minutes, meant fans missed the first leg of Gerwyn Price‘s clash with Michael van Gerwen, won 6-3 by the Dutchman.

The issues persisted into the second match of the night between Chris Dobey and Luke Littler, with the game going to adverts during the second leg of the clash and marking the third time the error screen came up.

It threatened to go off again later in the game with the screen flickering to black.

Throughout the game there was a myriad of technical issues with the screen cutting to black and green before returning.

Fortunately the issues were resolved by the time Luke Humphries hit a nine-darter against Rob Cross.

Paton then tweeted: “I REALLY HOPE YOU ALL SAW THAT 😂😂😂😭😭😭”

She then appeared to have second thoughts about the jokey tweet and hastily deleted it as commentator Wayne Mardle issued an apology for the glitches on screen.

Cross went on to hit a nine-darter of his own against Nathan Aspinall, but still ended up losing 6-5.

Aspinall – who had a pint thrown at him by a rowdy fan – played Luke Littler in the final, with the 18-year-old going on to win 6-3 and claim his second victory of the Premier League season.

Sky Sports declined to comment.
