Three fire engines are currently battling the fire at the station, while travellers are stuck outside the station.

One person at the station told The Sun how passengers had been told to “stay back” as they were rapidly evacuated.

He said: “We have been told to evacuate the station.

“There are no trains running.”

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade earlier told The Sun: “We have been called to reports of an e-bike alight at Rayners Lane Underground Station.

“Three fire engines are in attendance.

“We were called at 11.30am and are still at the scene.”

They then confirmed that the fire was under control by 11.56am.

The spokesperson said: “The fire is all under control.

“One e-bike was completely destroyed on the platform of the station.”

The Metropolitan Line is currently part suspended between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge, according to the Transport for London (TfL) website.

It says: “No service between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge while we respond to a fire alert at Rayners Lane.”
