A YOUNG woman has revealed that she packed two suitcases, left the UK and moved to Spain.
Not only is rent now much cheaper, but Tilly Lagarde claimed that the food is better and the people are much nicer too.
Eager to open up on her move abroad, the brown-haired beauty took to social media to reveal all, leaving many open-mouthed.
As she shared clips as she prepared to head to Spain, Tilly said: “Four months ago, I packed up two suitcases and moved by myself to Spain to work as a digital nomad.”
Tilly then gave her followers a close-up look at the first apartment she moved to, as she added: “My first apartment was so cute and I was so lucky to get it, but it was a little bit out of the way of everything, and now that I’ve made some friends and made a bit of a life here I am, I am moving to Alicante.”
But Tilly soon flocked to Alicante, as she beamed: “So I packed up my Fiat 500 as full as it could possibly be, drove myself to Alicante, signed the contract, and I’ve now moved in with my friend in our new apartment.
“This is my new bedroom and then this is me, sat on my new balcony, romanticising my life, because why the hell not?”
Not only does Tilly love her new apartment, but she was eager to share some more information on renting in Spain.
She claimed that it was slightly difficult to find a flat, as quite a lot of them needed a few months’ deposit.
However, she revealed that you can find accommodation in Alicante for much more affordable prices than in the UK, as she explained: “Rent is very affordable in my opinion, [it] ranges from €400 [£330] to €1,000 [£827] depending on apartment size and location.”
And this is significantly cheaper than in the UK, as according to the latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the average monthly rent in the UK is currently around £1,300.
As well as this, in another clip, Tilly revealed the five reasons why she left the UK to move to Spain.

The content creator claimed that her body “thanks” her for eating organic and fresh produce that “hasn’t been imported or genetically modified”.

Additionally, Tilly also moved away from the UK as a result of the cost of living crisis.
She stressed that renting in the UK had become “increasingly more expensive” and acknowledged that “although prices are increasing in Spain, the value for money is way better”.
And if that wasn’t enough, the influencer also praised the culture and stressed that Spain has it “spot on”.
She recognised that Spanish people “socialise for the soul” and rather than work and money, family and friends are higher up on their list of priorities.

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @tillylagarde1, has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed 86,100 views.
Social media users were happy for Tilly’s move abroad and many eagerly flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.
