ITV confirms future of Unforgotten after six series and major cast shake-up.
After a rollercoaster sixth series and a huge cast shake-up, ITV has finally broken its silence on the future of Unforgotten.

Fans have been left wondering whether the show will return after its latest shocking twists – and now, the ITV has delivered an answer.
The broadcaster has confirmed that the show has been recommissioned for a seventh series following the success of series six.
The first episode of the new series has consolidated at 6.4 million with a peak viewing of 6.8 million after 7-day viewing.
After 14 days of viewing, the first episode peaked at 7.4 million viewers, making it the second highest-performing drama of the last year across all channels.
Unforgotten has also been streamed over 24 million times this year alone on ITVX.
Sinéad Keenan and Sanjeev Bhaskar announced the dramas recommission via social media, unveiling a script for series seven along with a message thanking viewers for their support.
Series creator and Executive Producer Chris Lang will write the seventh series.
Chris said: “I am so delighted to have been asked to create another series of Unforgotten, and given the opportunity once again to follow Sunny, Jess and their brilliant team, as they attempt to crack another cold case.
“Unforgotten is a drama that has always asked its audience to lean in, concentrate, and engage with complex ideas, plots and themes, and we are profoundly grateful that such a large and loyal audience continue to enjoy doing exactly that. Roll on series 7!!”
Series six came to a conclusion last night as Sunny and Jess unravelled their latest cold case, receiving widespread critical acclaim with many five-star reviews praising the drama and declaring Sunny and Jess “TV’s best detective duo.”
Gerry’s killer was finally revealed as Taylor Cooper.

The CPS decided it wasn’t in the public interest to charge Taylor over the killing.
The series is expected to average over 7 million viewers each episode.
Fans of the drama were left stunned after finding out the investigating officer of Cooper’s disappearance was Ram Sidhu (Phaldut Sharma), who viewers last saw back in season 4.
DCI Ram Sidhu was at the centre of the show’s drama as a murder suspect.
Although innocent of killing anyone, he was imprisoned for preventing a lawful burial, taking money for drugs and abusing his position as a police officer.
Sanjeev explained his character Sunny will always have negative feelings towards Ram as Cassie (Nicola Walker) was overworked and tired from her time on the case before her shocking death.
The sixth series featured a star cast including MyAnna Buring (The Witcher) and Jan Francis (Just Good Friends) and Damien Molony (Brassic).
Unforgotten season 6 is now showing on ITV1 and ITVX.
