BEING single can get costly, as money deals tend to be aimed at couples.
But there are ways to spend less if you don’t have a partner — so watch out for these savings . . .
FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS: Team up with a mate to help you cut costs.
Use “refer a friend” deals for some money-off days out, shopping and broadband or energy bills.
A Two Together Railcard can be shared with the person you travel most often with – and you don’t need to live together.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Single shoppers pay more for groceries because family-sized packs are generally cheaper. But it is easy to bring the price per meal down by buying the bigger sizes, then batch cooking and freezing.
Also, make the most of food waste and swapping apps such as Too Good to Go and Olio.

It costs around £7 to subscribe per month, then £5 to £10 an hour.
Using an electric vehicle through a car club can save you £5,573 a year compared to owning a new EV, found national shared transport organisation CoMoUK.
