CORONATION Street fans will have to reshuffle their viewing plans once again, as the long-running soap is being bumped from its usual slots to make way for more sporting action on ITV.

The latest shake-up means episodes will be rescheduled, leaving viewers wondering when they’ll next get their fix of Weatherfield drama.

Friday’s episode was axed again as ITV dedicated almost three hours of their schedule to the FA Cup, leaving soap fans furious.

And next Friday will be similar as the channel will air Portugal Women v England Women in the UEFA Women’s Nations League.

Coronation Street will broadcast on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday instead.

The ITV soap has dropped a jaw-dropping new promo trailer that will leave fans fearing for the lives of Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse.

Killer Rob Donovan will make a desperate bid for freedom – and drag Carla into his dangerous escape.

Rob proves he’ll stop at nothing to break free.

Fresh from surgery, he launches a brutal attack on a security guard, swipes his uniform, and snatches Carla as his unwitting accomplice in a desperate bid for freedom.

Meanwhile, Lisa is hot on their trail, but does she truly grasp how dangerous Rob is?

Will he kill to stay out of jail – or will his reckless plan cost him everything?

Corrie fans have been teased that the storyline leads to the shooting and death.

TV insider said: “Viewers will be on the edge of their seats as the gripping hostage ordeal followed by a cold-blooded murder unfolds.

No one is safe from the peril and havoc Rob is set to unleash.”

It emerged last week that up to 75 people among ITV’s 600-strong Corrie and Emmerdale casts and crew face redundancy.

All episodes are to be scaled back to 30 minutes, meaning an hour’s less soap a week.

Several Corrie cast members have left in recent weeks including Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw), Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley), Colson Smith (Craig Tinker) and Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster).

Insiders blame rising costs and falling ad revenue for the changes.

Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
