AFTER opening up their relationship to a third person, one couple shared the challenges they now face.
Now officially a throuple, the three adults live together and raise five children between them, however their lifestyle has its ups and downs.
In their viral video, TikTok user Sonja, Ashley, and Dave (@throupletime) revealed what it is really like to be in an open relationship.
The family explained that Sonja and Dave were together for two years before Ashley joined.
They have now been together as a throuple for almost three years.
However, things have not always been smooth sailing for the unique family.
They listed some of the drawbacks to living as a throuple, including some of the day-to-day cons.
One issue is their sleeping arrangement means someone doesn’t have a nightstand.
They added that going on holiday together can also create problems.
The throuple joked that hotels only give you two bathrobes and pointed out that resorts don’t accept them for couple retreats.
They also described kissing as a throuple to be “just weird and funny.”
But for all the drawbacks, they revealed that there are way more advantages.

And while they learned the importance of sharing, they also have the benefit of living off of three incomes.
They also revealed that jealousy is not an issue in their relationship since they all love each other so much.
The throuple added that they are just happy when the others are happy.
They also explained that being in a throuple actually allows them for more time to themselves.
The TikTokers pointed out that if two of them share an interest they can enjoy it together while the third enjoys some personal time.
“At least airplanes have three-seat rows, holding hands is way more fun, and there is always someone to talk to,” they concluded.
