TATTOOS are more popular now than ever before.

Thanks to their increased accessibility and the rise of social media platforms like Instagram, where fans eagerly share their tattoo designs, more people are being inspired to get inked.

Even those who might not have considered it in the past.

However, experts advise individuals to carefully consider their decision, as tattoos are permanent and can be challenging to remove.

There are also various types of tattoos to choose from, ranging from traditional body art to cosmetic tattoos, offering endless possibilities.

Despite this, one woman is urging people to think twice before committing to certain tattoo placements – particularly on the eyelids.

Mar, who uses the TikTok handle ‘heya.itsmar’, posted a video sharing her warning with others.

The beauty fan revealed that she got an eyeliner tattoo when she was a teenager, but is now regretting her choices.

Eyeliner tattoos involve using a pigment to enhance the appearance of the eyes whilst aiming for you to use less makeup.

Eyeliner tattoos are applied using a small tattoo machine and ink.

Speaking to camera, Mar said: “If you ever thought about getting your eyeliner tattoo, please don’t.

“I got mine done when I was 19, four years ago, and it looks horrible right now.

“I need to put like two layers of P. Louise Powder on top to cover it completely.”

She showed the camera the top of her eyelid which clearly showed that dark black eyeliner which had faded.

Mar also added in the caption of the video that it was “maybe my biggest mistake ever.”

Her video gained lots of attention with many people rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One wrote: “Yours at least faded to grey. mine faded blue and I spent 4x more getting it off than I spent on getting it done.”

To which Mar replied: “I’m considering getting it removed; is the process painful?”

And then replied: “I eventually found a plastic surgeon/laser clinic that has the eye caps. So much numbing, it still hurt like heck.”

A second added: “I’ll never get permanent makeup because trends are always changing.”

Whilst a third wrote: “I have been wearing eyeliner every single day since I was 13, I’m 21 now I think it’d be great for me.”

But Mar warned: “I was also wearing winged eyeliner every day since I was 13, and now I’m 24 and hate it.”
