LUKE LITTLER is happy to miss out on normal teenage life – because he can earn up to £10,000 a night by playing darts.

The Nuke secured a whopping £315,000 when he won the Premier League last year on his debut appearance.

That figure included £40,000 secured from four nightly wins on the circuit against the world’s best players.

Most 18-year-olds could only dream of earning that type of money in their lifetimes, especially when many are likely to be on the £8.60-per-hour National Minimum Wage.

Littler, who left school with one GCSE, said: “It’s just a case of missing out on things.

“I do go out with my friends. Whenever I come home from a tournament, I will always make time for it.

“Whereas they could be out near enough every night, but I am playing for tens of thousands of pounds.

“That’s what I have got to do. That’s what I want to do. It’s decent.

“There’s expectations on me – it always comes in every tournament.

“But what I have done, I have done quite big things. I know that there are loads of youngsters out there.

“I am sure in the next 5-6 years you are going to see loads of them battling at Q School trying to get their professional Tour card.”

Littler will be involved in the opening Players Championship events of the year on Monday and Tuesday at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan.
