A CHANNEL 5 show branded ‘sinister’ by fans has been renewed for a fifth series.
The broadcaster has green-lit more episodes of Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday despite attracting controversy.
It first launched on Channel 5 in 2020 and sees two polar opposite families jet off on trips abroad.
But the twist is millionaires are forced to slum it on a budget break, while families on a low income enjoy a luxurious vacation.
A source said: “The show has proven so popular and the format comes from the Wife Swap era of television. It’s fascinating viewing.
“While it has received backlash, people are still talking about it which is exactly what execs want.
“Another series has been ordered and production is expected to begin soon.”
Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday recently landed on Netflix, opening up a wave of new discussion online.
While some watchers said it was ‘addictive’ viewing, others branded it nothing short of ‘property porn’.
In one episode, a millionaire yacht owner was sent to a budget holiday park in Great Yarmouth.
He had to live off the humble budget of sisters Donna and Claire, who only had £100 to spend for their whole holiday week.
