ITV issues a major update on Trigger Point as the Vicky McCLure drama gets a cast shakeup.
The hit thriller sees Vicky play a bomb disposal expert working for the Metropolitan Police.



Fans will be delighted to learn that filming has started on the third series of ITV’s exciting drama, Trigger Point.
The tense show follows a team of bomb disposal officers, known as Expo’s, as they dedicate themselves to keeping the capital safe from explosive devices and terrorist threats.
Vicky will be, once again, reprising her role as Expo Lana Washington for the six-part series.
Also returning to the hit show will be cast members Eric Shango, Nabil Elouahabi, Natalie Simpson and Maanuv Thiara.
The third series will also feature Jamestown’s Jason Flemyng as a guest star.
Comprising of six episodes, viewers will see Lana and her team investigate a bomb threat that soon reveals itself to be the start of a sinister vendetta.
Very soon they learn that someone is targeting individuals and demanding revenge.
Working alongside the Police Counterterrorism Unit, the Bomb Disposal Squad race against time to find the bomber before they claim their next victim.
Vicky McClure spoke about the show’s return and said: “Trigger Point is back! We’re all so excited to get going.
“Having had such a positive response to the previous two series, we want to make this new series even more exciting.

The lead writer for the third series is Bloodlands Chris Brandon and it will be directed by Jamie Donoghue known for Doctor Who.
Trigger Point’s second season was a huge hit with viewers and gained 8.1 million viewers when it aired last year.
It became the second most watched drama for ITV, with Mr Bates vs The Post Office taking the spot of number one.
No release date has been announced as yet but the Mirror reported that Vicky updated her Instagram fans with a snippet of herself on set in her uniform.
She panned the camera to a card on the floor which read “Trigger Point Season Three.”
She captioned the video: “LETS GO,” alongside a series of explosion emojis.
Fans rushed to comment on the clip and one said: “Cannot wait to have this back on the telly. Amazing gripping drama.”
Another wrote: “Yes I love this show! Can’t wait to see new season three of Trigger Point.”
A third commented: “Brilliant can’t wait as it’s the best programme ever and your my all time favourite actress.”
