A B&M shopper has shared details of a budget haul that included an energy-saving gadget scanning for just £1 instead of £35.

The savvy shopper used the B&M Scanner app to check prices on a range of items and unearthed some spectacular bargains.

The B&M Scanner app revealed the bargain

the B&M Scanner app can be downloaded for free on to your smartphone via the Apple App Store or Google Play.

It has a barcode price check feature which lets you scan product labels in-store to find out their true price.

It sometimes shows up products that have been slashed to as little as 10p, before the price has been updated in store.

It means that shoppers can find amazing bargains before anyone else.

In this case the shopper, who pots on TikTok as the B&M Guy, scanned the barcode of a two litre Tower air fryer and found it’s price had been reduced to just £1.

The Vortx Compact air fryer‘s price had been slashed from an RRP of £34.99.

And the device could help you cut your energy bills.

That’s because using hot air to heat food allows air fryers to cook while consuming significantly less energy than a traditional oven

This appliance has a temperature range up to 200C and a 30 minute timer.

But, just because one shopper found the bargain there’s no guarantee it will be listed for £1 at your local store.

Retailers are allowed to sell products for different prices across their store estate and can reduce items where they see fit.

Of course, whenever buying something like this you should always check prices to see how it compares to those listed by other retailers.

You can do this through websites like Price Spy and Price Runner or quickly scan Google.

This air fryer was being sold for £34.99 on Tower’s website, while Asda has a 1.5 litre air fryer by George Home on offer at £20 and the range a Wilko air fryer, which it is selling for £24.99.

Remember, a purchase is only a bargain if you were planning on buying it anyway.

In the same haul the B&M Guy found a churro maker that had been reduced from £20 to £5 and a Numskull gaming locker reduced from £25 to £6.

How else to save money at B&M

The best time to get cut-price products is 10am on a Wednesday, according to one ex B&M manager.

This is when staff slash items to as little as 10p to clear excess stock and make way for new products.

Keep an eye out for red sticker products as well, according to deals expert Tom Church.

These are put on special buy products that have been reduced in price.
