A CONFUSED woman has revealed that she received an angry note from her passive-aggressive neighbour.
Whilst most neighbours will argue about broken fences or stolen parking spaces, this homeowner was criticised for her plants – yes, you heard that correctly.
Confused by the very abrupt and irate note, the woman took to social media to share it with others, leaving many open-mouthed.
Posting on Reddit, on the r/mildlyinfuriating thread, the woman wrote under the username @HedgehogSmoothie and titled her post ‘This poorly written letter from my passive aggressive neighbour telling me to remove my ‘legally-owned’ plants from my property’.
Alongside the post, the woman shared a snap of the letter, which read: ‘It has come to our attention to our residents that the potted plants outside of your porch are not real and decoration.
‘This will reflect extremely poorly to our houses and other constituencies in the area who have real plants who might wish to sell [their] homes one day, and buyers running away when they saw your plants.
‘Earlier this week, myself and 14 other neighbours (including the state environment official) have held a group meeting to discuss the appropriate action necessary to solve this issue.’
Not only this, but the letter then continued: ‘As of this writing, we have decided to grant to you 2 days to remove the selected plants from your porch.
‘IF you chose to not correspond, there might be an official action taken that will include the police called to write a lawsuit, or the flowery being removed and discarded of quite immediately.’
It then ordered: ‘You must within 2 days minimum.’
The direct letter ended: ‘Note: We have [chosen] to make this letter anonymous to protect our legal right, and to grant you the same legal opportunities.’
Reddit users react
Reddit users were left totally shocked by the letter and eagerly flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.

Whilst someone else chimed in: “I love the pointlessness of the phrase ‘quite immediately’. It’s definitely someone trying to sound all smart and lawyerly and failing miserably.”
A second letter
But the Reddit user then shared an update – and confirmed that she has in fact received a second note.
She explained: “Since my previous post, I’ve received a second note stuck to my window.
“I’m not sure what to make of it as it’s more or less the same style of letter, only this time I think they realise they can’t really take any legal actions (hence the letter).

“They also encouraged me to buy some plants at my local store, which is not going to happen.”
Not only this, but the homeowner claimed that she is not the only person in her street to have received such letters.
She confessed: “I have spoken to at least one other neighbour who said he received a note about ‘disruptive Halloween decorations’ last year.
“It was written on paper (and not printed with text) but he said it was similar in tone to the letter I received, so we think it might have been the same person.
“We don’t think it’s someone young, we think it’s probably someone older living in the neighbourhood who feels like they have a lot of authority…
“If anything else happens, I’ll update. Though I am not gong to pursue things any further after this second letter.
“Thank you for all the comments and advice, I really appreciate it. We’ve not installed a camera yet, but we might consider it soon.”
