A CONTESTANT on The 1% Club has correctly answered ‘the hardest question ever’ and walked away with the jackpot prize.

The ITV game show, that’s hosted by comedian Lee Mack, has become a huge hit since launching in 2022.

He asked: “If January equals 717, March equals 5315 and June equals 4624, then what does August equal?”

It sees 100 contestants compete for a £100,000 prize pot by answering 15 logic-inspired questions that get progressively harder.

It kicks off with a question which 90 per cent of the population polled got right.

It then goes on to ask questions which smaller and smaller percentages of the country got right, culminating with a 1% question.

Since The 1% Club‘s debut the programme has been adapted in other countries, such as Australia.

And fans down under have been left gobsmacked after a contestant walked away with $100,000 (£50k) after cracking one of the ‘hardest questions.

Viewers watched as Michael attempted to guess the last question of the competition in just 30 seconds.

The Aussie was asked: “If January equals 717, March equals 5315 and June equals 4624, then what does August equal?”

In nail-biting scenes the clock ticked down to zero as Michael changed his answer before time ran out.

He guessed 6848 which was the correct answer as the audience erupted into applause for Michael.

Fans also flooded social media with comments, as one wrote: “That was seriously an impressive answer! He nailed it like a true champion!”

A second said: “I’m impressed, I was stumped.”

“Wow amazing that he got that, very clever,” said a third fan praising Michael.

The answer is 6848 is because August has six letters and it’s the eight month of the year – if you multiply both numbers together you get 48.

January is 717, March is 5315 and for June it’s 4624.
