SHE’S been blonde for a good few months now.

But Sue Radford decided to go “back to the dark side” this week, as she swapped her lighter locks for a glossy brunette new ‘do.

And it also looked a lot healthier too – as well as glossy and shiny

The mum-of-22 took to her Instagram page to tease fans about her upcoming transformation, as she shared a snap of herself in front of the salon mirror and wrote: “New hair colour pending!”

The next snap showed 49-year-old Sue’s epic makeover, as the family matriarch joked she’d gone “back to the dark side”.

She also added she “absolutely loved” the transformation, as she linked to hairdresser Carmen Edmonson’s post.

Carmen, who works from home and out of a Lancaster salon, explained that she’d used “nano bead hair extensions” to “create length and thickness”.

And she’d also used colours “2 and 4/8” to get the rich, chocolate hue in the hair.

“Absolutely love it Carmen, thank you!” Sue commented on the picture.

As fans were also quick to weigh in, with one telling Sue it “makes you look younger”.

Sue – who is naturally brunette – has been experimenting with longer locks in recent months, making a change from her previous signature bob.

She also went blonder than ever for daughter Millie’s wedding last year.

As she showed off the new look in September last year, people commented on the post to insist that being blonde “really suits” Sue.

“Love your hair, colour and style,” one wrote.

“Really suits you!”

While another added: “I love your hair Sue, it’s beautiful, huge change.”

However, the toll that the lightened, lengthened look has had on Sue’s locks was clear to see in the “before” snap shared by the hairdresser.

With the extensions removed, Sue’s hair was only just past shoulder length, and looked to be somewhat damaged from the apparent bleaching.

But she’ll hopefully avoid any more damage to the hair by opting for the more expensive nano bead hair extensions.

As they add length to the locks using tiny beads – rather than glue or heat like traditional extensions.

They’re also lightweight, meaning they’re perfect for someone with fine hair like Sue.

And they can be removed without having to use any harsh alcohol-based products – another bonus.
