The hit ITV  show sees pairs of contestants working together to win huge cash prizes with the aide of life lines.

Married couple Arj and Charlotte were back on Sunday to continue their game after a brilliant start the previous night.

But after losing 14 lives on the first question about the number of wheels on a jumbo jet, the couple hoped for better luck on their next go.

Ant and Dec asked them: ” In the womenswear range at M&S, the standard or regular trouser length is designed to fit an inside leg of how many inches?”

The couple discussed the answer between themselves with Charlotte thinking the number might be between 28 and 36 inches.

Charlotte then guessed her arm is about 17 inches in length and bent down to measure it against her husband’s leg.

Ant joked: “I know you are recently married, but what’s going on over there?”

Giggling Charlotte then guessed 25 inches for the answer but Arj explained that he thought that was too big because women are shorter.

At the last second he then moved the dial right down to 23 as his final answer to the question.

However, the correct answer turned out to be 31 inches and the couple lost a further 8 lives.

Fortunately they went on to win £10k which they cashed in before leaving the show.

But viewers were left unimpressed with their attempts to answer the M&S question, and flocked to share their opinions on social media.

One viewer stated: “I’m short….. but 23 is Steve Redgraves shorts on DOI.”

“Why does this couple have no sense of distance? No idea how long an inside leg is, no idea how long an average car is ffs #limitlesswin #antanddeclimitlesswin” said another.

A third exclaimed: “Not the brightest (and that’s being kind) #limitlesswin.”

Another added: “Ridiculous question for this early in the game.”

It’s not the first time fans have been left fuming when a contestant fumbled an easy question.

Contestants Nik and Khajal, a married couple, who met during a speed dating event tackled a series of questions before taking on the exciting money ladder.

Ant and Dec asked Khajal: “In current UK money, a two pound coin is worth how many pence?

She hesitated a while before answering: “16” but of course that wasn’t the right answer.

Fans of the show were left fuming that she got it wrong and expressed their views on social media.

One exclaimed: “How many pence in £2. Limitless stupidity!”

“I’m no naffing #brainofbritain – but am I the only one screaming at the simpletons on #limitlesswin pondering over the most basic of questions?!!!” said another viewer.
