A SAVVY woman has shared how she transformed her secondhand couch.
The woman took to social media to show off the DIY task she set herself – which bumped her sofa to looking like a designer dupe.

She said: “POV: when you want a lush sofa but only have secondhand to work with.”
In the clip, she showed off the rather basic grey sofa which had pleats all down the body of the sofa and cushions.
The pleated helped give the otherwise boring sofa a bit of character.
But because the sofa had no legs – it looked super cheap, that’s when she had an idea.
Instead of forking out thousands on a trendy sofa, she decided to upcycle the pre-loved seat.
“This sofa was picked up from a warehouse sale, it was badly damaged at the back, ripped underneath and had a few dark paint spills on the side,” she explained.
“BUT, as I always say you have to see the potential in these pieces and with a little TLC she’s now looking a lot more ICONIC!”
To start, she sprayed the fabric with water to make it damp all over before going in with an upholstery paint in the colour Olive.
Using a regular paint brush she gave the entire sofa a layer of the paint and left it to dry.
Once done, she got to work on covering the ripped up bottom of the sofa with a sheet of black fabric and a staple gun.

Next, to add the final touch of luxury she added black globe legs to the chair from Pretty Pegs.
By the end, her sofa looked brand new and very similar to Swoon’s Willem seater which retails for £1,699.
And the woman, who goes by @formandbalance on TikTok did it with a £19.95 buy from Fabri-coat who specialises in fabric paints.

People were blown away by her clever DIY skills, one person wrote: “I LOVE IT! I have 2 second hand chairs I want to paint.”
Another commented: “Oh my gosh! I never even knew upholstery paint was a thing.”
“It’s stunning,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “This is so good!”
Someone else added: “Well done!”
