My nan is 106 with barely any wrinkles – she swears it’s down to only washing her face ONCE a day & a £5 beauty classic

A WOMAN who left people stunned by getting to 106 with virtually no wrinkles has shared the secrets behind her youthful complexion.

Whenever Andrea shares a video of her grandmother on her social media pages, she’s bombarded with people pleading for the woman to share her beauty secrets.

And she finally obliged in a TikTok video, as Andrea asked for her skincare routine and how she kept it “so beautiful”.

“Did you wash your skin at night?” she said.

“Did you wash it in the morning?

“What did you use?”

Andrea’s grandma then replied: “I just washed my face once a day when I get up.

“Once a day.

“I use Pond’s cream, just cleansing cream.

“That’s all every day, just Pond’s cream, that’s all.

“That’s all I do, just clean it with that.”

She added that she barely ever wore make-up, but when she did she used a “little powder” on top of her newly-cleansed skin.

“I hardly used any make-up,” she insisted.

“A long time ago, when I was young, I clean, wash my face with soap, then put my cleansing cream, Palm’s cold cream.

“Then just a powder like this, after I clean my face. That’s all I did.”

Andrea also asked her grandma how she’s managed to keep a full head of hair at the age of 106.

And while she now uses Pantene shampoo, she always used to use a bar of soap.

“We just used any kind of soap,” she said.

“Any kind of soap for your hair.

“Whatever we had.

“At that time, they used bar soap to wash your clothes.

“And that’s what you used for your hair. Your bar soap.”

“Wow, and no conditioner?” Andrea marvelled.

To which her elderly relative replied: “Oh no, we didn’t even know about that!

“All my life, even when I was home, even when I got married, that’s all I did.

“They only had one bar, and you use that for everything.”

“Wow. Well, it’s just, I guess it’s just in your genes then!” Andrea marvelled.

To which her grandmother, who turned 106 on 2nd January, agreed.

“My aunt used Pond’s cold cream everyday and when she was in her 70’s she looked 50!” one person commented on the video.

“My mum used Pond’s cold cream as well . Funny how they didn’t wear sunscreen either,” another added.

“Hairstylist here – my dad is 80 and has the most beautiful white hair and has always used a bar of Ivory soap to wash it,” a third commented.

“My 96 year old mother used Pond’s cream for years and has no wrinkles,” someone else said.

“Everybody always asked her what she uses on her skin!”
