COMEDIAN Paul Whitehouse has denied claims he’s The Masked Singer’s Kingfisher – yet has suggested the TV star who might be.

The Only Fools And Horses The Musical actor suggested he’d been “framed” as the man behind the big bird’s costume in a candid chat on ITV daytime show Lorraine.

Previously, in a bid to unmask the star on-air, The Masked Singer judge Davina McCall suggested that Paul was hiding behind the costume.

So during her show, host Lorraine Kelly, 65, took The Fast Show actor Paul to task, grilling him about the Saturday night reality TV series as soon as he sat on the sofa with wife Dr Mine Conkbayir.

The Scot quizzed him direct about if he was big-beaked Kingfisher – who first belted out a rendition of The Rainbow Connection from The Muppet Movie.

This weekend, they will take on Goo Goo Dolls hit Iris and, after the clip played out, Lorraine promptly asked Paul, 66: “Is that you?

“Look me in the eyes and tell me.”

He replied: “Well if I say yes you wont believe me, and if I say no you won’t believe me,” which prompted Lorraine to add: “So we don’t know.”

She added: “It would make sense with kingfishers, because they are there when you’re fishing.”

He then teased: “I see that – whoever has done it,” before coughing, and adding: “Harry Hill.”

Paul then said: “They are very cleverly throwing the focus towards me.”

Lorraine then said: “Ooh do you think it’s him?” to which Paul added: “There are rumours flying around.”

The host then surmised: “It could be anyone lets be honest,” before Paul added: “That’s the joy of the show.”

Fans have previously suggested You’ve Been Framed anchor Harry is the man behind the mask.

On X viewers were keen to get their guesses out early as one said: “That’s definitely Harry Hill, he has a good voice.”

Another agreed as they posted: “So others are saying Harry Hill for Kingfisher. I did say I heard him at the start.”

Twelve celebrities were hidden behind intricate costumes, with their identities concealed.

Pufferfish This year’s winner had flawless vocals throughout the competition. West End powerhouse Samantha Barks told the audience she’d loved every second of the series.

Dressed Crab – Former American football player turned jazz singer Gregory Porter was the man behind the crustacean. He duetted with Keala Settle, who previously competed as Air Fryer, in the final.

WolfWet Wet Wet heartthrob Marti Pellow was unmasked as the rugged character. McFly’s Danny Jones, who won last year’s show as Piranha, was on the panel in the final and paid his respects to the Scottish crooner.

Bush – she didn’t fool viewers and the judges were so close, but Bush was in fact EastEnders legend Natalie Cassidy. Davina McCall came closest, guessing Morgana Robinson, who does a mean impression of the Sonia actress

Bear – another success for new judge Maya Jama as she guessed correctly that the singing Bear was none other than singer, songwriter Example – real name Elliot Gleave.

Snail – this singer certainly fooled the judges as the mask was lifted to reveal Andrea Corr. Jonathan Ross admitted to being a huge fan of The Corrs.

Kingfisher – everyone was convinced this was Harry Hill, but the mask was lifted to reveal artist Sir Grayson Perry, who is known for his alter-ego Claire.

Teeth – this character baffled judges and viewers with their changing voice. They were finally unmasked as former Bake Off host Mel Giedroyc. None of the panel managed to guess it was her.

Tattoo – despite Davina McCall saying “you sound the same” after this character was unmasked, none of the judges guessed it was 80s singer Carol Decker, whose hit China In Your Hand was a No1 hit for five weeks.

Toad In The Hole – a massive diva strop saw the character storm off the stage after the judges voted them off. They later returned to be unmasked as singer Macy Gray.

Pegasus – the mythical horse was revealed to be Prue Leith, with judge Jonathan Ross correctly guessing her identity.

Spag Bol – this character was first to be unmasked and was none other than Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway.

Plus there was one extra unmasking this season, with Giant Joel – a caricature of host Joel Dommett – unveiled as double-double Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah.

KING CLUES

Kingfisher has dropped a host of clues to their identity – yet fans are still confused.

They previously shared a riddle which read: ”Fishing and planting, digging and mowing, to reap the rewards, you’d better get sowing.”

They also said: “There’s nothing better than a nice, relaxing day down by the water.”

In another clue, they teased: “I have caught a prince or two in my time.”

Meanwhile, they also had an East End accent as well as a tag with the name Harry, as well as a roadmap.

Dog treats, a blue fish and a net – as well as a radio – round off the telling clues.

The judges also believe that Kingfisher could be Chris Packham or Alan Titchmarsh.

Som fans of the show are equally convinced that children’s TV star Simon Farnaby is the voice of Kingfisher.
