EAMONN Holmes captured an adorable moment with beloved dog Maggie after a bitter custody battle over the pet with ex Ruth Langsford.

The former This Morning anchors stunned fans with their shock break-up last May, with Loose Women anchor Ruth continuing to keep the pooch in her care.

The Sun was first to report how Ruth, 64, and Eamonn, 65, were pushing for a “quickie divorce” in which she is eager to keep their £3.5million Surrey mansion as part of her divorce settlement.

The Sun later revealed Eamonn is set to lose the custody of the Border Collie cross, who is 14-years-old.

Yet it is clear the broadcaster is eager to maintain their bond and Eamonn posted a video to his Instagram page following their day out.

He can be seen sitting in the front seat while Maggie peeked her head from behind.

She could be seen affectionately licking his ear while he sung The Beatles track All You Need Is Love.

The GB News presenter then told the camera: ‘Ahhh that dog loves me, thank you Maggie.”

In his caption he reinforced the song’s lyrics and wrote: “All u need is Love … And a Rescue Dog!”

One fan replied: “Ahh Eamonn isn’t she just so precious.”

Another put: “Well you’ve had a good wash she does love you.”

A third commented: “Oh Maggie.”

Another wrote: “How lovely!!”

Yet one then appeared eager for more detail on their arrangement and put: “Did you share custody with Ruth?”

MAN’S BEST MATE

The super-cute dog was adopted by the former couple in 2011.

She is said to be like a “second child” to them, even appearing with the pair on the ITV show This Morning.

A source previously told The Sun: “Maggie is like a daughter to them.

“They dote on her. But she’s getting on and they know she needs stability.

“It’s a case of who can give her that. Eamonn adores her and Maggie’s been such a support during his health woes. The thought of giving her up is heartbreaking to him.

“But if Ruth is able to get out and about and walk her more, then it may well be that she gets Maggie in the split.”

They have been trying to avoid calling in lawyers like Ant McPartlin and his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong did when they rowed about their mutt Hurley.

Our source added: “They are adamant this won’t come to what Ant and Lisa went through and they won’t be getting lawyers involved.”

Eamonn, who has a son, Jack, 22, with Ruth, spoke earlier this year of Maggie’s “unconditional love” and the joy she brings to his life.

He said: “I genuinely have never experienced affection like it.”

Meanwhile, Eamonn has sparked speculation he is ready to start afresh with his new girlfriend Katie Alexander.

The Sun On Sunday previously revealed the GB News anchor was keen to get engaged to Katie.

Showing his commitment to his new love, The Sun revealed he drove four hours to make sure he shared a special first Christmas with marriage counsellor.
