BENIDORM’S creator has sparked rumours that the show could be set for a comeback.

Fans have been calling out for a reboot of the sun-soaked comedy show since its end in 2018 and now the show’s top boss has sparked hope that it could be in the works.

Derren Litten, who created the programme, took to X – formerly Twitter – to share a cryptic comment regarding the future of Benidorm.

A fan posed a question to Derren about the show’s potential comeback as they asked: “@DerrenLitten @ITV Another series of Benidorm on the cards?”

Fuelling speculation, Derren teased back: “Who knows…”

His comment got Benidorm superfans excited with one admitting: “Could do with another one! I’ve watched every episode on Netflix about 50 times over now.”

Another suggested: “What about a big movie then ? I can give you some ideas on story lines lol.”

Before a third went on to write: “Come on Derren give us all what we want.”

His post comes days after one of the stars of the show shared a throwback post to his time on the show.

Josh Bolt joined the cast of the ITV sitcom in 2016 in the role of Rob Dawson.

Josh admitted that it would be 10 years this April that he filmed his first ever scenes for the programme.

He said: “9 years ago today the Dawsons made their debut on Benidorm.

He accompanied his words with a shot of the Dawson clan from their first episode on the programme.

Just last year, Josh sparked hopes of a reunion after he met-up with two of his co-stars for a catch-up – six years on from the show.

He beamed alongside Steve Edge and Selina Griffiths for the reunion selfie.

Steve played Josh’s on-screen dad while Selina portrayed Pauline Maltby.

Posting on X, formerly Twitter, Josh said: “Benidorm reunion by the sea not as warm but still as lovely.”
