CATHERINE Tyldesley has shared hopes for a TV icon to board The Good Ship Murder – and hinted at a grisly death.
The actress, 41, plays the role of First Officer Kate Woods in the Channel 5 crime drama, which began in 2023.

Speaking to The Sun’s TV Mag, Catherine shared which big name she’d like to see join the show.
She said: “I’ve just finished working with Sue Johnston on another job and I want to drag her on the ship for the third season.
“I’m like: ‘Sue, get on to your agent!’
“I’d love to work with her again.”
Sue, 81, played Barbara Royle in BBC comedy The Royle Family.
From 2012 to 2014, she starred as Catherine’s on-screen grandmother, Gloria Price, in Coronation Street.
In an amusing twist, Catherine has some ideas for upcoming killer storylines.
She revealed: “I’ve always been a fan of blunt trauma to the head.
“But I’d like to see a shark attack… Maybe if we get a bigger budget.”
Elsewhere, The Good Ship Murder reunites Catherine with her former Coronation Street co-star Shayne Ward.

However, their romance was tragically cut short by Aidan’s suicide in 2018.
Meanwhile, cruise-ship crooner Jack Grayling and First Officer Kate Woods have had romantically-charged ‘will they, won’t they?’ moments between them.
Catherine said: “Kate has always chosen her career before love, but Jack is a spoke in the works.
“Her love of true crime and the adrenaline rush that she gets when she’s with Jack is interfering with her focus.
“Next season, I’d like to see them re-create the ‘I’m flying’ scene from Titanic.”
While many may jump at the chance to cruise the Mediterranean for a living, Catherine revealed that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.
She explained: “So many of the locations we film at are so remote, it’s like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
“We take these porta-potties around with us – I’d say that was pretty unglamorous!”
The Good Ship Murder airs on Channel 5.
