CHANNEL 4 has quietly pulled the plug on one of its game shows after just one series on air.
Hosted by top comedian Sue Perkins, Double The Money has seemingly been given the boot following its airing last year.
The show saw 13 pairs of Brits using their entrepreneurial spirit to try to double a certain amount of money in a set time frame.
If they were unable to do so, they faced a brutal elimination round which saw them axed from the game.
The contest continued week by week, with the amount of money increasing as time went on.
Eventually, those that made the final had to convert £10,000 into £20,000 in the space of a month.
Whichever couple managed to convert the most won the show as well as receiving an additional £20,000 on top of their earnings to be crowned champions.
However, in a blow to the programme’s fans, it is understood that Channel 4 bosses have opted not to bring the show back for another go-around.
Plans for a second series have been abandoned and the show has been shelved, according to TVZone.
Hosting the game show marked a change in direction for Sue after presenting a slew of travel programmes throughout 2024.
Working with both Channel 4 and Channel 5, she became the face of many self-titled shows following her adventures around the world.
She hosted two series of her own Lost in… strand for Channel 5 which saw her exploring both Alaska and Thailand.

Prior to her latest roles, Sue is best known for her comedy double act with fellow TV star, Mel Giedroyc.
Together, the duo fronted The Great British Bake Off during its time on the BBC.
