Foodies race to John Lewis to nab fill your own Quality Street tins slashed to half price

YOU may have noticed a few retailers drastically slashing prices of their sweet treats, eager to clear the shelves of left over Christmas stock.

And while some of will still be feeling sick from the overindulging of the festive period, others will be keen to get their hands on a yummy deal.

Sainsbury’s shoppers have been taking advantage of the store’s latest price reductions, including family favourites Quality Street and Celebrations.

The sweet snacks are being snapped up quickly by hungry buyers – so if you fancy a bargain you’ll need to be fast.

One eagle-eyed shopper has spotted an incredible deal on a classic British confectionery at another retail giant.

They posted the picture to Facebook group Extreme Bargains UK’s 57,000 followers.

The snap was captioned “50% off Quality Street fill your own at John Lewis.”

The picture showed a shelf stacked with the iconic purple and gold tins – all sat underneath a ‘reduced to clear 50% off’ sign.

The DIY tins were originally retailing for £17 each but have now been knocked down to just £8.50.

And even better – shoppers have full control over the contents, so no need to dodge the Coconut Eclairs or Toffee Fingers if you’re not a fan.

The pick and mix Quality Street stations are exclusive to John Lewis and only available in store.

Simply grab your tin and fill with your favourite flavours.

There are 12 delicious flavours to choose from – including ‘back by popular demand’ Coffee Crème.

The bargain hunter had spotted the deal at the Cribbs Causeway branch of John Lewis.
