THE MASKED Singer fans have ‘worked out’ the iconic kids TV star behind Kingfisher after a major giveaway.
ITV viewers are convinced Horrible Histories legend Simon Farnaby, 51, is hiding inside the elaborate costume after watching just one episode with them in it.
After the contestant took to the stage with a rendition of The Rainbow Connection from The Muppet Movie, social media users went wild online.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one wrote: “Kingfisher sounds like Simon Farnaby to #maskedsinger #MaskedSingerUk.”
Someone else said: “Simon Farnaby for Kingfisher #MaskedSinger,” while a third added: “1000% Simon Farnaby #kingfisher #maskedsinger.”
A fourth joked: “Kingfisher is Simon Farnaby. Absolute FACT.”
One more concluded: “Kingfisher sounds just like Simon Farnaby #maskedsinger.”
Viewers previously flooded the internet with their theories, predicting it must be comedy and TV icon Harry Hill.
One said: “That’s definitely Harry Hill, he has a good voice.”
Another agreed as they posted: “So others are saying Harry Hill for Kingfisher. I did say I heard him at the start.”
After Kingfisher had stepped out on the stage and performed, viewers were even more sure they had nailed who the mystery performer was.
One person wrote on X: “Kingfisher on the Masked Singer sounds like Harry Hill to me.”

The first episode of The Masked Singer was also hit by an awkward moment as new judge Maya Jama leaked the identity of ‘Giant Joel’ who was teased on the Christmas special.
Taking to Instagram, the brunette beauty showed off her incredible first show look before she stepped out to take on her new TV role.
Yet in her snap she posed alongside Olympic legend Mo Farah on the panel, letting slip there was a special guest.
Fans did not let the gaffe go unnoticed as they pointed it out in her comments as they suggested she might want to delete it.
Confident Maya replied: “Mo is a guest panelist episode 1 it’s not a secret x.”
