MOHAMED SALAH has given the biggest update yet that his Liverpool career will come to an end at the end of the season.

The Kop’s Egyptian King has just six months left on his contract with the Premier League table toppers and is now free to negotiate with clubs overseas for a pre-contractual agreement.

Mohamed Salah's 2024-25 Liverpool EPL stats: 18 games, 36 chances created, 17 goals, 13 assists, 38 shots on target, 504 passes, 11 fouls.

Salah previously suggested he was heading for the exit door at Liverpool.

And the 32-year-old has now definitively said that as it stands, this will be his last year at Liverpool.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday, he explained how every summer he writes out a list of his aims for the season.

Last summer he wrote his goal down to win the Premier League, as opposed to the Champions League which he has previously noted.

He said: “This is the first time I would say I really want to win the Premier League [over the Champions League].

“Why? Probably because we didn’t celebrate the last one we won the way we wanted and also coming back it’s my last year in the club so you want to do something special for the city.”

Asked to elaborate on his comment, Salah added: “Do I really believe it’s my last year? So far yes.

“These last six months there is nothing, no progress. We are far away from progress but we just need to wait and see.”

Salah then admitted he wants to leave behind a positive legacy at Anfield, explaining he wants to look back and be able to say he had an unbelievable last season.

The attacker’s electric start to the season has seen him net 17 goals and add 13 assists in the Premier League alone.

And those 30-goal contributions are the fastest anyone has ever reached that figure in the Premier League era.

His latest contract bombshell is not likely to please fans desperate to keep the club legend.

Salah first joined the club from Roma in 2017 and has gone on to score 231 goals for the club, making him their fourth-highest all-time leading goalscorer.

Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are also in a similar boat to Salah and are free to negotiate with teams elsewhere.

The latter was reported by Spanish media to have chosen to complete a free transfer to Real Madrid.

Madrid are supposedly ready to hand him a £100million contract via huge wages and a massive signing-on fee.

Liverpool have reportedly rejected a £20million offer from Los Blancos for the Englishman.

And with youngster Calvin Ramsey recalled early from a loan spell at Wigan, some fans have been led to believe Alexander-Arnold’s time at the club is nearing its end.

Although The Athletic report Ramsey will be heading back out on loan instead of serving as a back-up if Alexander-Arnold leaves.
