WETHERSPOONS is slashing the price of a pint to as little as 99p across hundreds of pubs from today.

The chain is launching a January sale with venues across England and Wales cutting prices between January 2 and January 16.

Meanwhile, boozers in Scotland will drop costs from tomorrow (January 3) until January 16.

A total of 750 pubs across the three countries will be taking part in the sales event.

Punters can pick up a pint of Ruddles for £1.29 down from £1.79 – a 28% discount.

Others will be able to get a pint of Worthington’s for 99p, while Belhaven and Doom Bar are on sale for £1.49.

Over 650 of the 750 pubs will be offering a glass of Coldwater Creek wine (250ml) for £2.49.

Almost all of the pubs will be serving low and alcohol-free drinks from £1.49 too.

In addition, 660 of the pubs will be serving Lavazza coffee, tea and hot chocolate (including refills) for £1.29 instead of £1.59 – 19% off.

The sales event is not just limited to drinks, with punters able to get discounted food through three burger meal deals too.

The average price of the meal deals is £6.52 with an alcoholic drink or £4.99 with a non-alcoholic bev.

Wetherspoons regularly runs deals and sales events to give customers the chance to save.

It is always worth checking Wetherspoons’ website to see their latest deals to ensure you do not miss out.

For example, the chain dropped the price of a pint to just £1.50 for one day each week last month.

It also launched a Christmas menu at the back end of 2024, with a never-before-seen burger, pizza and dessert on offer.

It’s not all been good news at the chain though as it axed 18 drinks from menu in a major shake up last May.

Plus, it has started banning regulars from standing at the bar in some of its pubs.

A sign at the popular Roebuck in Rayleigh, Essex, tells punters: “No drinking at the bar.

“Once served we kindly request that you move away from the bar area. Apologies for any inconvenience.”

One drinker told The Sun: “I can’t believe they’ve introduced this. Surely being stood at the bar is one of the joys of the British pub.

“First ridiculous queues and now this. Standing at the bar is part of what makes the great British pub experience what it is.”
